Dr. Michael D. Lacopo is a life-long resident of northern Indiana. He began his genealogical research in 1980. His first published work appeared in 1985 with several books, journal articles and published contributions following. In 2000 he appeared in USA TODAY and has lectured locally, regionally and nationally (NGS 2004, NGS 2005, FGS 2006). Dr. Lacopo has a varied and interesting ancestry and is a self-described “all-American mutt.” He has research experience in numerous fields with particular strengths in research involving Mennonite families, Pennsylvania Germans and Midwest/Middle Atlantic research (IN, OH, IL, MI, and PA).
